My First Day of Connected Educator’s Month

Today was the first day of the first Connected Educator’s Month! I set out to have some great experiences here is the day as of 9:30 pm:

  • Today, I shared with other middle school principals in @cumberlandcosch the value of getting connected
  • Used social media to connect with other educators across our country [Twitter]
  • Engaged in a small group book discussion with an authority on education and impact leadership [@toddwhitaker]
  • Got introduced to an assistant principal new to Twitter, from Virginia, and helped her with some nuances of participating in a Twitter chat
  • Accepted a challenge from an Ohio high school principal to send 100 positive notes to staff members
  • Participated in a Twitter chat that was trending worldwide – #edfocus
  • Caught up with some friends/professional colleagues I’ve never met face-to-face
  • Got some ideas for best practices on positive communication efforts for my staff

Today was a great day! Without getting connected, these experience would not have happened! Let’s commit to getting at least one person connected this month! We grow together
